As a physician, Natalie Apparicio-Farrell saw firsthand the waste that plagued the healthcare industry. So she vowed to take it head on.
Natalie Apparicio-Farrell leads Healthcare Hub. Her company Healthcare Hub is a licensed wholesale distributor of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals with over 10,000 products currently being offered through their unique distribution model. A woman and minority-owned business with an eco-friendly focus, Healthcare Hub is working to create alternative medical products that are biodegradable and use renewable materials, helping their customers to "go-green" by reducing overall waste and environmental pollution.
“In the beginning, there was a struggle to get financing to fulfill the company vision,” says Apparicio-Farrell. But their recent work with Pathstone Enterprise Center, an affiliate corporation of community development corporation Pathstone, has helped them take the next step. With a focus on women and minority-owned businesses, Pathstone Enterprise Center is dedicated to expanding access to capital through making loans and providing technical assistance to small and micro businesses.
“I worked with Natalie on securing their financing so they could do some of their first larger orders. It was our honor to work with them because she and her husband have such a great company and you can tell they are such passionate people. Their company will do nothing but grow,” says Kayla Jenkins, Deputy Director of Economic Development with Pathstone Enterprise Center.
With this assistance, Apparicio -Farrell has a vision of expanding her operation worldwide. Her goal is to provide products that are eco-friendly to every part of the healthcare industry and make a true impact through bio-sustainable products.
Reflecting on her journey as an entrepreneur, Apparicio-Farrell offers some sound advice to those pursuing entrepreneurial ventures.
“I would to tell them to push," she says. "If it is something you want to do you need a strong mindset. If that is what your passion is, you should follow it. Passion is the key.”
